Every year see a number of manafacturers release and large number of mobile phones. And many of these handsets simply do not make the grade for one reason or another. However there are always a handful of phones that become hugely popular thanks to there innovative styling and host of features, and the Samsung S8500 Wave looks set to become such a model.

The mobile phone fans out there have been waiting for news of the Samsung Wave thanks to the fact that it runs on Samsung brand new “Bada” operating system. Bada is seen as a major rival to the other main players out there, namely the Google Android. Although the handset has not been released yet, meaning nobody has had the chance to fully experience the Bada OS, word is that it is an incredibly easy platform for users and programmers alike, and already a PS3 development studio have developed a game, the first time such a studio has produced one for a mobile phone. Therefore the operating system is certainly going to be something worth waiting for, for smartphone fans and gamers alike.

Another great feature of the Samsung Wave is the new Super AMOLED screen technology. This has been developed by Samsung and means that the already thin AMOLED screen can be made thinner by incorporating the capacitive touchscreen layer with the display layer, shaving millimetres off the overall thickness. The depth of the handset is just 10.9 mm, and although the weight cannot be confirmed at this time, it is likely to be very lightweight for a smartphone. The 3.3″ screen is a touch larger than some of its counterparts, meaning its great for displaying photos and watching movies. A huge 16 million colours can be displayed and the resolution is impressive, at 800 x 480.

The Wave looks set to be packed with a host of other features most phone user will gain benefit from. WiFi is included in order to browse the web, which you can do by using Samsungs Dolphin Web browser. A powerful 1Ghz processor ensures that the day to day operation of the phone is quick and effortless. With regards to connectivity, the “Wave” is Samsungs first handset to feature Bluetooth 3.0, resulting in quicker data transfers.

Although we only have some of the details at this present time, from what we have seen the Samsung Wave looks a well equipped and well designed mobile handset. The superb screen and excellent operating system seem set to ensure that the “Wave” will be another successful handset for Samsung.
