Here is the video version of the more detailed tutorial I wrote available at alldroid.org It outlines how to update your rooted Droid X from Eclair 2.1 to Froyo 2.2. The root method was discovered by Birdman, the same developer who rooted 2.1 on the Droid X. More work of his as well as other incredible developers, can be found at AllDroid.org

Great work, wish i would of seen this before i bricked my Droid X updating froyo via clockwork and bootstrap app. Now… off to flash and start all over again, yaaay.

i lost root when i upgraded, can i use the sbf to downgrade, re-root and upgrade again?

Help, after trying everything to remove theme’s applied and replace files, after rebooting, comes to welcome to droid x, and wont go any further, it looks like i’m touching the icon(its turning white), but wont go anywhere

I lost root! And I did not have a the recovery , and I cp the su.

. I am just curious, did you speed up the video of your reboot after the update? my phone takes what seems like forever to reboot.
@crash1781 Yes. I was thinking YouTube still had a 10 minute limit (it’s now 15 minutes) so I cut as much as possible to get all the important parts in… and spare you the bordom of the flash/reboot
awesome, but i get the logwrapper.bin error that you got… what does that mean for me?
