for one how much of a lock down apple has with applications for the iphone/itouch. they allow developers to create programs for their system but if its something they don’t like, apple maintains the freedom to pull something out whenever they feel like it. There is more room to develop for Android and with more freedom. Now which OS sounds more attractive at this point?

Doesn’t look as fancy as iPhone and Windows Mibile Phones, but a lot cheaper, I’ve always wanted to buy an HTC Touch Pro, Touch Pro is exactly what I need.

  4. TerminateCCP says:

Something such as TouchFlo 3D should be introduced to the Andriod platform, iPhone has got Core Animation

  5. iPatxx says:

    still the iPhone…

  6. iPatxx says:

I’m sorry, but nothing will beat the crowd of people the iPhone drew…

  7. scottlet says:

You seem under the misapprehension that Apple invented either icons or touch screens. Neither of which are true…

  8. scottlet says:

I’d suggest that as the Android platform is open and the iPhone platform is closed, it really speaks for itself…

  9. bmouthrob says:

It took a worrying amount of time to load slash dot..

  10. scottlet says:

They were using their own private wifi network for the demo, not Wembley’s fast wifi or a cellular network

  11. bmouthrob says:

Yeah, I suppose. Saying that though – most users won’t be using Wembley’s fast wifi…..

  12. scottlet says:

Nah, what I mean is that their wifi connection was crap, not the phone

  13. KenshinM4C says:

What would you suggest? Ruby? Perl? Worse … PHP? Java was a very logical choice. Mostly because it’s got automatic memory management. One of the largest issues with developing for the iPhone is managing memory by hand. I’d suggest that you stop talking out of the side of your neck and actually do a little research (AND CODING) for both platforms. You’ll see that the Google platform is far superior.

but they invented the mouse :P

ironic that you can’t watch youtube on an android phone

  16. LearnToFck says:

i believe in android, i don’t believe in this model of the phone

    pretty ugly.

  17. scottlet says:

Can. Comes with a youtube app, same as the iPhone

  18. Gaydolf says:

This guy sounds like an aggressive infomercial salesman. Perchance the Oxyclean peddler?

  19. 313biniar says:

I can’t wait to try it out for myself!

  20. Sikakuhc says:

I dont own an Iphone at all (Nokia NSeries actually).
it looks pretty cool this one….actually i would love when this baby gets for sell…more competition will make these kind of products better. Please stop rating ppl down ’cause you hate apple/google.

  21. cwongsm says:

I own an iPhone, loves it for the first few months, after that I feel that there just ain’t enough to keep me going … still exploring and expecting more … so definitely there are still lots of rooms for improvements in smartphones …

  22. cwongsm says:

Now because of the iPhone WOW the market so much, Android better be something WOW WOW for the market. And no matter what HTC is doing, they are just ODM for Google, and this is a Google phone – That’s why “G”1. HTC just making a prototype for everyone to start building apps for Android Market … I am sure it’s HTC’s “DREAM” and their “MAGIC” to be able to make their very own HTC Android phones one day … Brand your own things HTC!
